The Freeman Center's Residential Programs are open to all men and women who meet the Center’s eligibility criteria and who are seeking help in overcoming his/her addiction to alcohol and/or drugs.

Residential Treatment at The Freeman Center is available at two levels: intensive (which usually lasts for 30 days) and supportive (lasting up to 60 days). We want to meet you where you are, so based on your individual needs, the level of service and the length of time in treatment is flexible, based on a number of factors. You, your referral source, and your Counselor will work together to determine the best plan.

Treatment services begin with a highly structured 40 hour week of daily groups, individual counseling sessions, structured resident activities, random drug screening, aftercare planning and linkages and referrals to other services as supported by professional counseling staff. The number of hours in structured programming and the frequency of individual counseling sessions will decrease as your length of time in treatment increases and you make progress toward your treatment goals.

Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy are the primary treatment modalities used at the Freeman Center, but we also provide each program participant with an introduction into traditional 12-step models of recovery support. Curriculum materials are evidence-based and are tailored to the specific needs of those in treatment. Family counseling and education is also provided when appropriate and desired.

Throughout treatment, you will complete homework and process assignments for growth and change and spend time with your assigned counselor in planning for relapse prevention and maintained abstinence after discharge. Each person will also have a collaborative plan for linkage and referral into client centered aftercare services and supports.
